2021: Year of Change

Late last year I accepted a position with a new company. I had been with my previous employer for almost 14 years and that kind of longevity can leave one with a lot of undocumented knowledge. So, my days (and evenings) in December were filled with technical documentation. This left me with little desire to write for my own website.

I had thought that, come January, I might be back to the mostly-Monday schedule with my tabletop talk, but my weekends are largely eaten by the changes I see ahead. New job, helping my roommate move to a new place, preparing to move to a new part of the Portland area, continuing work on my custom ttrpg setting and engine, and now I’m playing/running a lot more frequently…

A lot of change. A lot of good change. But, what it does mean is that I’ll be writing posts a lot less. I’ll continue to write game summaries and character journals and I’ll probably post gaming thoughts, but any posts will happen as they happen. No longer bound to specific Monday morning times or schedules.

I’m hoping the removal of the specific day and schedule may eventually prompt more writing, treating this less as a “weekly column” site and more as a gaming blog, with me writing more than I would for twitter, but sometimes less than most of my prior game-specific posts.

2021 is primed to be a year of change. For both me and my website. And I hope the changes continue to be, for the most part, good.
